We visited our property yesterday in Longbranch. We walked the rolling landscape, identified crazy mushrooms and planned where we will drop our 20’ storage container.
The 20’ container will have two main purposes. (1) Storage for belongings and tools (2) Base for our Solar Array. During the next few months are efforts will be focused on creating our Zone 1. We will also build a fence for the two entrances onto the property.
I was reflecting on the amount of trees that have been logged of this property. The logging company left 1 full acer of old growth and we are very grateful this. Madronas and few Cedar tree’s are scattered across the land now. The terrain is tricky to walk across because the amount of forest debris left behind. A positive note here is we will not need to purchase firewood like ever. And there is plenty of downed timber to build infrastructure. It’s undeniably sad to see so much forest taken, however we vow to restore and protect this land from here on. 🌲💚#treehugger #hybridgrid #homesteader #offgrid #peaceout
